How To Make Your Own Website! (And How I Made This One)
To learn how to make ur own website, read on. The tips you get here are invaluable though given in a somewhat lighthearted spirit! Here is the whole story of my website endeavour, without any embellishment, just plain and clear. The lessons are there for the taking. You know how it is. We often start something without truly believing in it. It was the same way with me. I started with my first Site Build It (SBI) website, creating-a-life-plan.com without really believing that I could interest anyone at all or for that matter, even earn back what I had invested in SBI to start with. The truth is SBI provides you a platform - a potential to earn many hundred times more than what the average Joe earns. But you decide..... SBI states quite clearly in their action guide, that you should build at least 30 pages to your website before you start trying to earn money from it. I started off quite strong, actually. I probably built about 15 pages in the first two months, even while working my full time job, which believe me is more than 9 to 5. But I am self employed, and there is often a lull in the work. That is when I type away at the computer often, for even an hour at a time, so it wasn't too hard. But then, I am not one of the organized guys, who have the whole website laid out in the mind, before typing out the first word - far from it, I still do not know what shape my website is ultimately going to take! But that is exactly the point: the SBI system is so flexible, you can 'work' the way you want. And when the theme for your website is your passion, work is play! The website just built itself (the first 15 pages of it, that is!). That was the easy part. When I had my 15 pages, that is when, I think the self-doubt began to creep in. You know how it is, your sane self does not always support your efforts. So that was when I took a break from building more of my website. The hard part (I used to think, then) was to get traffic to your website. But with SBI that is the EASY part. The traffic to my website speaks for itself - traffic from the search engines which I have got just by following the SBI action guide - no extra advertising expense. For those of you new to website building, traffic to your website is what fetches the moolah. If nobody visits your Taj Mahal on the web, that is exactly what your website will remain, a tomb. And that is where SBI comes in.You see, it is actually SBI that does most of the 'work' - and it is all mostly automated. You just have to do 4 manual submissions to the major search engines, which is also there in the action guide. And truth be told, I did not even follow the SBI action guide in-toto here, I submitted my website to the search engines when I had just about 15 pages on my website - premature and bad, according to SBI, but the results are still there for you to see:I started with zero unique visitors in February (not unusual for a non-existent website, I think) and I now have almost 200 unique visitors this month. And that is point number two: The SBI system is very forgiving. No penalties for not reading the rules. My visitors have grown consistently on their own, inspite of my not having done anything at all in the intervening 4 months. In fact, the way traffic is increasing, I think I will have the required 600 per month in about two or three months more (SBI clearly states I should have atleast 600 unique visitors to my website per month before I can even dream of earning anything from my website). I have started to kick myself (each morning when I get out of bed and each night before I turn in) - why oh why did I not check my traffic stats earlier? Why did I get discouraged with my efforts? Why did I not make the small effort necessary to break writers block, then I could have retired a good six months earlier. I could have taken my dream vacation to the Bahamas right about now (or atleast about six months earlier, considering I still have to make a dime from my website!). And the nub of the matter, now - if I can do it, why can you not? Each of us on planet earth has something unique to contribute. An insight here, a view there. A story here, life experiences there. If a high-school dropout can do it, if a divorced mother with two toddlers and no time on her hands can do it, if even I can do it, then why not you? I know it takes a leap of faith to spend the $300 which SBI requires, but if you cannot scrape together the $300, you will never know whether you can do it. And then poof, your dreams go up in smoke. No early retirement, no vacation in the Bahamas (or in the mountains, if you are from the Bahamas!). I am so confident that anyone can build a successful website that I am willing to offer my services to anyone in need, just take me up on that one. Send me feedback asking for help. I will do everything I can in my power to help you - but this has necessarily got to be a limited time, first come first served offer! Do the research first, of course. SBI has been around for over 10 years now (which equals ages in internet years). It was established by a good Canadian doctor, with a love for the net. No fly by night operator here, no sir. Just a solid Canadian company. And their return rate is way, way down there, somewhere near the Dead Sea or should I say the Mariana Trench? Yes, they do have a return policy, for those who do not get around to writing their 30 pages (or should that be 15?)And yes, they did do the experiment - got hold of a good old employee, and gifted him a SBI website. He was successful of course - and they lost him as an employee. The experiment has been repeated so many times, if you still wish to read up on all the stories, here is the link:

Or visit the forum, quite likely your questions will have been answered because SBI has sold tens of thousands of websites, if not hundreds of thousands.
